| A home out West for Boston sports fans By Carol Beggy & Mark Shanahan, Globe Staff | January 17, 2006 |

| The faithful Pats fans at Sonny McLean's in Santa
Monica, Calif., stayed put until the dispiriting end Saturday. ''We're
not used to things going like this," said Jim Connors, owner of the
popular sports pub that's become a home away from home for Boston sports
fans. We spied a few familiar faces in the packed house, including
Godsmack singer Sully Erna, band manager and Medford native Paul Geary,
and Extreme's former axman Nuno Bettencourt, who looked inconsolable
after Champ Bailey's interception. Also applauding were comedian/actor
Jason Vittorini of Hull, as well as former Pats cheerleader Stacie
Schifino, who's a waitress at Sonny McLean's these days. Gone before we
got there was local boy Jay Harrington, who recently landed the role of
Teri Hatcher's love interest on ''Desperate Housewives." |
